Time Management


It’s a blank page (literally) and a fresh start for each new year.  This year I have really struggled with setting goals and planning for the new year. So many things demand my time, I want to choose wisely, I want to glorify God in all I do and I want to spend my time on things that matter.

This past year I turned 50 and Ken and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.  I have met new friends and lost a very special one.   Our time is truly valuable and oh so precious.  In my notes from a sermon by Craig Groeschel I wrote this quote,” I would rather be remembered for standing out than be forgotten for blending in.”

My top five resolutions/goals for are listed below with resources I am using to help me along the way.

Spiritual Growth. I know the best thing I can do for my family is to become a better example myself. This post from Karen Ehman says it all, I just had to share.  I  started the Blogging through the Bible series  last fall to help fit things in my busy schedule.  I am hooked,  I love the ease of “one chapter a day” and the accountability groups.

2 “Face To Face” Time with Family and Friends.   I read this post  today from Kristen at We are THAT Family and it hit home.  My calendar is much less crowded so far this year, it is intentional but it still fills a purpose. Kitchen Table Legacy started because of sitting around my actual kitchen table, in real life, I need to do that more!

Time Management–I am pretty organized. I have a planner and use it faithfully.  (I need to get better at the technology part.) I am great at planning menus and getting people where they need to go.  I love to-do lists.  Somehow at the end of each day, month and even year I wonder where the heck the time went.  This is a work in progress, I will keep you posted . . .

4–Organizing and Streamlining the House– I cannot say enough the Spring Cleaning 365 website and blog.  So many cleaning, organizing and time management tips in one place.

5–Health and Fitness– This post from Darlene Schacht at Time Warp Wife is so me.  I have the greatest intentions but use my lack of free time as an excuse.

Ok, there you have it.  My goals for the year . . .

You may see a few changes in the blog.  I want to share more of things that apply to everyday life.  I will still post frequently  about memory keeping as it has long lasting benefits.  We all need to focus on making memories and making a difference.
